Born in New Delhi, Sharaj started to Play Tabla at a very tender age of 5. Already in his early childhood, he discovered his passion for Indian classical music.

At the age of 11 Sharaj studied Tabla at the University of Allahabad in India. At the same time, he took lessons from Shri. Rabindranth Das. And a few years later he became the Student of Shri. Shubh Maharaj, grandson of Tabla Virtouso Pandit Kishan Maharaj. 

With the completion of high school, Sharaj became a Tabla teacher at Lancers International School. There he taught students from all over the world. He organized orchestra with different ideologies from east to west. Additionally, he arranged concerts and prepared students for performances, examinations auditions and festivals.

In November 2017 he played with Sarod player Shri. Sougata Roy Chaudhari played various concerts in Ireland. Sharaj is presently based in Germany and is teaching and Performing at different Music Festivals across Europe and in Sharaj has a very extensive and varied Repertoire. His Tabla style involves Banaras and Farrukhabad style of Tabla playing.
